Each magnetic snap is composed of two snaps and 2 washers.  
On one side of each of the two magnetic snaps are two prongs that go through the cloth and a washer at the other side of the cloth, which you then bend over to secure the snap in place.  
Once the two snaps are in place they will snap together when brought close together.
